Alternatives to Homework

Many studies show homework may not be beneficial to students in elementary school. Here is a link to an article on Live Science. What do you think? I know when my sons were in elementary school, homework was always a challenge. I think the ideas below would have been much more beneficial to them!

List of Alternatives to Homework:

Cook a meal together.

Eat dinner as a family.

Read together.

Play outside.

Learn a new hobby.

Extra curricular activities.

Go to a museum together.

Read for pleasure. (comic books, magazines, digital books, etc)

Practice spelling words in a fun way! (child's choice)

Practice memory verse.

Study for upcoming test (Trivia Style!)

Extra math practice, if needed.
